Greetings Cadets! This Friday we’re hosting a work night with a focus on the New York State Game Dev Challenge! (magic.rit.edu/nysgamechallenge) The deadline is a couple weeks away so the time to get some feedback!

This is a great opportunity to meet up with local developers, get feedback on your project, and to recruit teammates! We aren’t able to supply any computers for this event, so bring laptops or whatever you are able. If you have a project outside of working on the challenge you’re welcome to bring it by as well.

About the challenge (from the website):

The NYS Game Dev Challenge is a statewide competition for both students and indie developers that aims to
help bring their game ideas to production. Entrants can register as either a student or indie developer (solo or
team), with the latter category being open to any interested developer in NYS. Winners will be awarded cash/
funding for their game (drawn from a pool of $25,000 for each category), inclusion in RIT’s (or partner’s) on-site
incubator, and access to the mentor network. Entrants will be judged on their game idea pitch, game prototype,
business plan, mentorship plan, and development timeline.
