Make it Juicy is a presentation by indie developer Taro Omiya, who will describe techniques used in his own games to create a more engaging, polished experience. He will use Flappy Bird, the simple-yet-popular mobile game, as a basis for demonstrating “juice,” a type of in-game feedback coined by Kyle Gray, Kyle Gabler, Shalin Shodhan, and Matt Kucic. No prior experience in Game Development is necessary to enjoy this presentation!
Taro Omiya is an experimental indie game developer and a former Boeing software engineer. As a frequent game jammer, his games are often lauded for their unusual polish and innovation. He currently works in the Tech Valley Game Space, where his studio, Omiya Games, is developing a satirical mobile game called Not a Clone.
